“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few…”

This is the message that we are bringing to the churches in Italy.  And it is incredible to see how God is moving and calling young people to dedicate their lives to sharing the love of Jesus with those who still have not heard it.

It is always amazing to see how God has prepared and called in advance his workers to the harvest. Gianluca preached in Sicily this weekend about the need to go, and to send. He was surprised when people came to him after the message and said, “I am ready to go.” And when he said, “Great! We will be organizing a short term trip for next summer.” They replied, “No I am ready to go! What do I need to do to be ready to leave for the field?”

Often I wonder why God has allowed us the honor to be part of all this. To prepare, to go, to send, to reach, to love those who need to experience HIS love. It is a privilege and an overwhelming responsibility. God is calling many! Pray with us as we seek to challenge the Italian church to be ready to send!! We do not want to take people out of their churches to be involved in our organization, but desire to work with the local church to help them be the ones who send out their members.

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:14-15

“The effective prayer of a righteous person has great power..”

Through the example of a dear friend and pastor, we were encouraged to begin to set aside a specific time once or twice a year to pray, fast, talk, plan, seek the Lord and commit to prayer the vision that the Lord has entrusted us- both the long term vision and the specific planning for the next year.

This year was our first time. We are thankful that God provided great friends to help out with our kids and the finances in order to have this time away together. It was a time of refreshment and encouragement, a time of discussion and of prayer and meditation.

We want for God to lead, and not our own desires or plans.

Philippians 1:3-6

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion the day of Jesus Christ. ”

God has graciously entrusted 11 lives into our hands and I am so thankful that it is HE who will complete the work He began in each of them!

This last weekend we had the immense joy of hosting our first ever retreat for our long-term candidates. We had a lovely guest and so many precious moments of prayer and of sharing. It was a time of encouragement, challenge, supporting one another, and of experiencing new levels of God’s call and His grace.

So thankful for what he is doing in the lives of these amazing people
