9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
We celebrated our 10 Year anniversary this May 18, 2012! I am so thankful for our 10 years we have had together in marriage and our 15 years of knowing each other! God has been so good in giving us each other and in allowing us to serve Him together. It is a blessing to be married to and serve with your best friend. We are so thankful that He might use our marriage to encourage and challenge others and hope that we might continue to grow in His grace in order to be the best example possible. The premarital course, young married group and marital counseling has been fun and always served to challenge us and our own marriage as well. Happy 10 year anniversary babe! I look forward to our next 10 years together!
1 Co 13:4-7 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
We had the honor, privilege andjoy to host a team from the US these last two weeks. 5 churches were represented within the group!
They were a true blessing- every one of them had a great attitude and servant’s heart. They were able to serve in so many ways- working at the center on work projects, teaching english classes in the evenings, preaching at the men’s meeting, the Sunday service, and the women’s meeting.
Thank you also to each of the churches who sent a part of their church body to come here and serve us. We had our final hurrah dinner on May 18- our anniversary.
God is so good and uses so many different events and people to encourage us and bless us as we serve Him.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
These last 2 weeks a youth group from Holland joined our youth group to see how “Get Out”, the youth evangelism ministry, is working here in Italy. It was a great collaboration and wonderful to see how God breaks down all language and cultural barriers when we are brothers and sisters in Christ.
At the end of the week the 2 youth groups gathered in the town squares and used a flash mob, and brief tesstimony to draw in a crowd and then they went out into the crowd and shared the love of Jesus with every person that they met. It is fun to see how God uses so many different tools to reach the lost!
It is just important the we- GET OUT!
We had our i6:8 meeting inviting anyone who was interested in this summer’s upcoming trips this Monday May 7.
There was a great turnout! We are so excited to see how God puts together this summer’s teams and to see how He begins to prepare their hearts.
There will potentially be 3 trips- two to Africa and 1 for adolescents to the Balkins.
The leadership of We are One, Gens (and its various ministries), and i6:8 met for a one-day retreat.
It was a great time of encouragement, of prayer and of seeking the Lord for how He wants to continue to use the youth generation to reach the lost in Italy and around the world.
It was a great day with a really special team. We are so thankful that God has put so many amazing people along our path!
