Saturday September 24, 2011 “Gesù è Islam”- Chiesa Pieno Vangelo di Modugno
We will have an amazing opportunity this month to host a very special guest who will be speaking about the subject Jesus and Islam.
We are looking forward to hosting our guest, to learning from them and from their experience. We will also have several opportunities for the candidates to interact with our guest.
We are prayerful that this event will have a positive impact on the church and the community. Creating a necessary knowledge, awareness, compassion and love.
i6:8 and the Modugno church will be beginning a new ministry reaching out to the immigrants in our larger community. The immigrant population in Italy has exploded over the last several years and has brought many new cultures, languages and religions. We are excited to begin to work among these people and to serve them.
The goal is to reach these communities within the larger community through the provision of humanitarian aid (a food and clothing bank for example) and through programs provided at the church itself (Learning the Italian language, computer technology, how to cook italian, etc). We have our first informational meeting at the church this next Monday September 19.
We are certain that it will be an excellent way to show others that Jesus loves them.
Gianluca will be preaching on the 4th chapter of Galatians Sunday September 18.
This is the continuation of the series on Galatians that he has been working through the last several months. It has been a great challenge and blessing to the church and we are expectant for what God will do this Sunday as well.
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.†14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!“
That is the message of the debriefing process which began two weeks ago with the group of 14 young people who recently served during a short term trip in Moldova. The challenge is to encourage each of them to ask God to reveal the calling on their life…to go or to send. Our prayer is that there will be many more who go, because “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few”. It is a great group of young people and it is fun to see how they laugh at their experiences with culture shock and encouraging to see how many of them have a heart for missions now.
Pleasse pray that God would continue to cultivate the calling that He has on their lives.
