We had a great group for our english class this last week. There were 14 to 20 people every day and people of all ages were involved. There was young man who was new to the church too. It was a lot of fun and a great experience for everyone involved. We are excited to see how God opens the doors for us to continue to use this tool in the future to serve the community and reach those who need Him with the gospel. A special thanks to the group from America who worked double time in order to do both the VBS and the english classes. It took a lot of prep on their time before heading this way- we appreciate all your hard work!
And just to squeeze every last drop of energy out of the group who came to serve…we put them to work at the center!
A special thanks to the team who worked so hard to serve the Lord here in Italy. We are so thankful for your partnership and your encouragement. Thank you for working so hard in everything you did!
27 children joined us this last week as we kicked off our first ever VBS! 6 of the kids had never been to church before. The week was met with much joy on behalf of the children and parents. We are so thrilled with how things went- God was so faithful! Everything went smoothly, everyone enjoyed themselves, the kids didn’t want to go home, and the parents are begging for us to do this more often! It was a great way to start this new adventure! A special thanks to the team from CCC and OCC who helped make this all possible!
We are so excited that a team from the US will be joining us and helping us provide an intensive ESL class to the church and community. We are so happy to have this opportunity and to see how God might use it in the future as an outreach to the community. It is going to be great- we can’t wait to see how God uses this open door to bring new people into the church who need His love and grace!
Gianluca continued his sermon series on the book of Galations this Sunday the 13. God is using this book to truly challenge the church and to show His grace to his body and those who do not yet know him!
The Moudgno church will be holding their first ever VBS this year. A group arrives from America on thursday the 17 to help us, and the following week we will be holding the VBS. We are excited about this new adventure and what it can be for the church now and in the future. The dates are Tuesday June 22 through Friday June 25.
PRAY that kids will come!!!!!!!
As the saying goes, “Out of the frying pan and into the fire”. Gianluca stepped foot on Italian soil and dove right back into work!
There is a lot going on in every sense of the word!
Change: God is bringing the church through a period of transition. The church has grown so much in every sense. The church has grown in number, in location, in maturity, and in his reaching out. We are in a time of newness. Everything is new and exciting. We are trying to focus on and rejoice in the good and the positive while affronting the many things that slowly need to change. Changes are taking place in every area of the church. We are trying to maintain a healthy equilibrium, taking on what God has called us to and seeking more and more His purpose and calling for us as a church. It is an exciting time! A time to rejoice, a time to grow, and a time to persevere with Christ’s strength!
Events: There is a lot going on this month! Sunday we had a baptismal service. There is a artistic training weekend this weekend for those who want to use the arts to serve the Lord and a special outreach service on Saturday with special guests. There is a men’s retreat this next weekend as well. A team from America is coming in on the 17th to do a VBS and a ESL class. They will be held simultaneously the week of the 21st through the 26. We are excited to see how God uses these events to reach the lost! And there is an i6:8 retreat at the end of the month to prepare for the upcoming trips to Moldovia and Greece.
Ministry challenges: There is still a lot going on in our ministry for which we ask your continued prayers! There are a lot of people in the church who need healing and change in their personal lives, marriages and families. We are prayerful that God will continue to use us and give us the grace and wisdom to serve him with perseverance, endurance and joy.
So things keep flying along!!!!!!!!!!
Family needs: Please keep our family in your prayers as we continue to make the transition back to life here. Although we were only away a little over a month the kids are truly struggling this time with the transtion, especially at school. Chloe is also very sick with a high fever. The kids often comment that they want to go back to the US and that they prefered school (or other things) there. It is a struggle to encourage them and help them to see the greater purpose when they are still so young. It is a struggle for us as well because it is easier to make the sacrifice for yourself, but more difficult to ask your children to make that same sacrifice. We appreciate your prayers and know that God will bless and protect and nurture in this area of our lives as well!
